Forget Me Knots

Sarah over at Modern Country Style is having a link party, as you've probably realised I enjoy this part of blogging it reminds me of school and being set a project, anyway Sarah has asked us to define our blogs.

I've only been blogging just over a month now but I knew from the beginning that I wanted to keep it simple and just focus on the things I love.

Looking back at the postings I have done so far and I see its a bit of a mixed bag of my interests, a diary of events going on at home and sometimes me going on about the weather but predominately this blog is about my love of nature, the seasons and bringing that into my home to enjoy.

I grow in my garden flowers especially to cut and bring into my home, occasionally I will make posies and flower rings because then you really get to see every detail of the flower, expecially the tiny flowers such as these Forget Me Knots.

  1. We used to have loads of forget-me-nots but they seem to have all disappeared, can't find one clump this year.
I also grow flowers to cut and bring into the house, mainly because I only buy British goods, foods and so on where possible, and so would only buy British grown flowers. But simply can't afford it nowadays since the company my husband worked for dropped half its workforce last year, and now the other half. I also only buy foods that are in season... who the heck wants strawberries at Christmas, not me!

  2. Your blog is such a visual feast, and I really enjoy seeing what you do with flowers - I love that flower ring, short lived I guess but so very very pretty. I have forget-me-nots self sowing in my little woodland area and you have inspired me to have a go making a ring! xx

  3. I don't know how to make a flower ring. Maybe you or Belinda would show me when you get a minute?

May I take a stab at defining your blog? Simple, magical, refreshing ...ok that's enough.

  5. Hey you,

Thank you so much for linking up. I've been SO thrilled to find your blog (as you know because I'm constantly going on about it whenever I comment!!).

Aren't forget-me-nots lovely? We have lots in our garden that come up each year. I know some poeple find them rather weedy but I found that they are no only awesome ground-cover (keeping out my nemesis, ground elder!) but beautifully dainty. Perfect!

I must go back to my blog and try better!

I do love forget me nots, they remind me of lovely nanna who passed away when I was still a child and even I could grow them when I had a garden which made me very happy!
