A Little French Shop

Its Good Friday here and we're planning on having a barbeque today so just doing a quick post on a visit I had yesterday to our city centre, Norwich.

Of course I had to have some flowers going on in this post, this lovely Wisteria looked very old and was beautiful, it was planted all around an old church.

About 10 minutes walk from the town centre is a lovely French shop, called, The Bell Jar, the owner paints some pieces herself but they are all sourced from France. Unfortunately I chose the wrong day to visit as the owner had shut early for the day so these photos were taken from the window.. I was a bit disappointed but I will visit another day.

Apologies there are a lot of photos but it is such a lovely shop.

Such a cute car.... Happy Easter.

  2. I think the Bell Jar was featured either in Country Living or Country Homes and Interiors last month... the lady lives in a flat above the shop if it's the same one.
I have a thing about wisteria, love it, yet cannot grow it for some reason.
And the car is a Figaro, I have my eye on one, though it will remain a pipe dream.
We have great weather for barbecueing over this part of the county, so hope it's the same for you. We don't go in for it at all, but a lovely day for those who do. Hope yours is good.

  5. Hi there... I just read about this shop in Country Living. So wish I had the opportunity to visit there. Isn't wisteria just amazing, although around here it attracts so many bees, that I feel nervous sitting beneath it. Have a great weekend... enjoy the sun and the extended break! Lx

  8. The wisteria is gorgeous and the shop looks amazing. The Figaro is one of my husband's dream cars... he used to keep the brochure in his nitestand drawer.

  10. Is that the wisteria around St Giles church? I used to love walking along there when it was out and even when I moved to the other side of Norwich I would make an effort to visit it in bloom each year

Luckily quite a few of my new neighbours here have it so I get to see it and reminisce!

  11. Thanks for all the beautiful photos, there is something magical about wisteria I think. And I'm in raptures over the 'Bell Jar' photos!! Lots of inspiration - I'm working on a 1:12 scale miniature project which is a Brocante with the owner's apartment above - sounds like this woman is living the life of my mini world ;) So I'm certainly not complaining about how many photos you publish of it - in fact I'm going to do an 'Oliver Twist' and ask for MORE!! :)

I would NEVER in a million years have thought about putting a stack of old tiles in my mini shop, I have a darling pot of flowers sent to me by another miniaturist that would be just the thing to put on top so I'm off now to roll out paper clay and sing a happy song!
