Busy Times

I'm decorating my bedroom at the moment and that means everything else seems to go to pot.

My garden is wild with neglect.

and I just had time to pop some roses (Madame Pierre Oger Rose) into a jar to scent the kitchen this morning and then its back with the painting.

Of course there is always time for vintage hunting and I added to my bottle collection this weekend.

  1. Hello Deborah:
Your arrangement of flowers, including that perfectly lovely rose whose scent we imagine is wonderful, is very pretty indeed. And, of course, it represents a little piece of normality in the midst of the upheaval of decorating.

We hope that you will make good progress with the painting, a job which once embarked upon one always wishes to see finished.

  4. Deb, I love those bottles...and of course the rose is beautiful. I love nothing better than to have a 'project' at home...although painting can be tedious it's extremely rewarding. You can achieve an amazing transformation with a coat of paint! I look forward to seeing the results of your labours. Robx

  5. I thought those bottles were for MY collection? We must have gotten our wires crossed.

I wish we could do it all but sometimes things just have to slide.

Those roses make it all better though, don't they?

  6. Beautiful--I can almost smell and feel the hot color of the roses and the coolness of the bottles. Good lick with the painting--hope you'll tell us/show us what color.

  10. Hello Deborah

I think there's something charming about a garden which isn't over-manicured and judging by your flowers - everything is thriving.

  15. You maybe already know I love roses but you will not know that we also have a collection of old bottles mainly dug up from our old garden in the Uk. Such a pretty post today, hope the paiting is going well.

  17. Hi Deborah, it's funny Madelief, also a tea drinker liked the teacups too! I know what you mean about an afternoon perk up, I find I always get a little sluggish at about 4 in the afternoon, but I am a bit of a night-owl! Have a wonderful day, love Linda x
