Flowers in the House

Time does fly here, I can't believe we are nearly into October.. but today is lovely and not at all Autumnal.

Today its Flowers in the House at Jane's, so I had my pick of Roses to choose from as the Roses in my garden are flowering again with abundance.  Here is 'Iceberg' a lovely delicate creamy white Rose which always looks so natural in a vase.

and then there is the lovely Fennel flower, this has been a favourite plant of mine this year, I can't recommend it enough.

This Rose is a David Austin Rose called 'Port Sunlight'  I only planted it 6 months ago, (relevant post here) and its already quite established plus this is it's second flowering,

I picked up this old jar from a car boot sale, I love the label, although I think I would of rather it said Paris then Pickles :)

Autumn Sowing

There is a definite smell of autumn in the air here, although it's still warm enough for pottering in the garden.

I usually do my sowing of seeds in the spring but this year have decided to sow now.

The idea being I will have stockier plants which flower early and can survive the snails, hence why I'm trying, again, with Lupins.  I love these plants but then so do the snails.

My Roses have come back for a second showing and the rose 'Sombreiul' is even lovelier this time of year.  With it is blue Campanula, Verbena, Veronica and a lovely peach coloured Verbascom.

Door in the Bathroom

I bought this old and rather woodworm pine door quite a few years ago, it had been stripped of its old paint so I dry brushed on mid green and a pale green paint and added a few hooks so I can hang jewellery etc.

I just added a jar of flowers today but I also use the hooks for towels.

I haven't really changed much in my bathroom cabinet, just added a few old bottles and shells.

My son starts college very soon and I still have supplies to shop for, every year I say I'm going to start early but somehow always leave it to the last minute :)
