I had a trip to Norwich this week and of course couldn't pass up the opportunity to visit a favourite shop.
'The Bell Jar' in Norwich... I often feature this lovely shop because I just find it so inspiring.
I loved this set of tables, one had a marble top.
and then outside in the small courtyard.
This chair was in the process of being painted, the owner of the shop paints some of the furniture herself using lots of thin layers of paint which looks like its been scrubbed on with a paintbrush, its then waxed.
Hello! I just found your blog on Miss Mustard Seed's Friday Feature. No wonder you featured that shop. I love everything that you photographed. I live close to the coast of South Carolina. My link is next to yours at MMS.
ReplyDeleteomg.... certainly wouldnt mind a shopping spree in this shop. So many goodies, so much eye candy! Sigh...
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing!
Hello Deborah:
ReplyDeleteWe are not at all surprised that you keep returning to this most stylish of stores. A visual feast and so many tempting things to buy. And, everything so imaginatively presented that it is such an inspiration for interior design and decoration. Lovely!
I see why you love it so ... I could linger in there for hours and dream the day away in the courtyard!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I could move right in and be happy. :)
Thanks so much for posting all the pictures--I spent a lot of time looking at them and know I will be back for more--I find them so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI would have to go with a uhaul. I find it torture to look at those lovely things and not be able to touch them or buy them!!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, that kind of store makes my teeth hurt. I could go crazy in a place like that! Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteI. Want. Everything.
ReplyDeleteOh it looks enchanting...so inspiring too. No wonder you keep going back. I would be spending a lot of money there if I went!
ReplyDeleteSuch great stock...so tempting!
I want to be there browsing in this little shop in England. So charming. I fell in love with the white mirror standing alone with the blue and white tea pot. The tablescape with those cute blue and white plates-adorable.
ReplyDeleteHi Deborah,
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing I don't live in Norwich. What an amazing shop this is. I understand why you enjoy featuring it. There is so much to see, and it all looks lovely!
I will have one more look straight away!
Happy weekend,
Madelief

I can see why you find it so inspiring. I have passed on a Sunshine Award to you today.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking this is the kind of shop you would love to have for yourself... trouble is, how would you part with everything? You'd have to buy things you didn't like, which would be a bit silly to say the least! I know you love styling your home, and you do it so well, it is just like this shop on a smaller, more cosy scale, so I can see you as the proprietress of such a place, vetting people who want to buy your goodies! Lovely photos yet again.

Beautiful! Definitely inspiring! A good place to linger. Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteI am moving in immediately. Please alert owner:)

Hello Deborah
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you give us a second look around this treasure of a shop. The white soup tureens and lidded serving dishes are exactly what I am looking for. Sadly, Norwich is so far away.

Hi Deb, great visit again...thanks..I really am coming to visit one day soon...have just been into France to visit the champagne region which was beautiful...had hoped to find some 'brocante' but no luck...a lot of shops were shut for August...found a market but more 'vide-grenier' than brocante and no joy! Had to settle for some champas and glassware from Mumm! Robx
ReplyDeleteThat is certainly a shop filled with wonderful treasures. And I so love the oh so Sylvia title "The Bell Jar". How great is that?! Have a wonderful day ~ Alexandra
